softcoresoft (Leticia Trandafir) is a Montreal-based DJ, music producer, radio host and cultural organizer. Her sonic aesthetic fuses acid, hypnotic techno, rave music and broken beats.

Aside from high-octane and eclectic DJ sets, softcoresoft performs live hardware sets that blend techno, acid, electro and trance. softcoresoft’s upcoming debut EP is set to drop on Lobster Theremin Black Label in 2019.

softcoresoft’s local performances have included the city’s best electronic music platforms, including MUTEK Montreal (2018 and 2017 as Demora), Piknic Électronik, Igloofest, Never Apart, Phi Center, Pop Montreal, LIP, Datcha as well as countless raves and loft parties.

From an early point in her DJ trajectory, softcoresoft has been a Discwoman collaborator, playing at their events in both Montreal and Brooklyn (Technofeminism at Bossa Nova Civic Club) and releasing a Discwoman mix in February 2018. Internationally, softcoresoft has also performed in Berlin (Urban Spree, Polygon), Barcelona (LAUT), Detroit (Marble Bar), Norway (International Bergen Festival), Düsseldorf (Golzheim), Ciel’s “Work in Progress” party and Bambis in Toronto, Le Cercle (Quebec City) and many more.

Aram

The punk side of Montreal’s house scene, theme of the underground. Aram’s purpose is definitely to surprise the audience. Party organizer, disc-jockey, La Rama records employee and even cook, you have a chance to see Jules Aram in very different situations depending on the time of the day.

Gene Tellem

Gene Tellem recently released two stellar 12” (one for Project Pablo’s SOBO and one on Wolf music) and her ever-reliable DJ sets have been regularly rocking dance floors in Montreal for quite some time now.

Brom

Arrived on the Montreal scene with the duo Bronco, Brom then brought his music full of groove and mystery to many clubs and after-hours, to finally create the collective The Waiting Room. Evolving in a world of analogue aesthetics, he was able to make his mark by sharing the turntables with names like Andrès, DJ Assault and Baltra. Definitely intrigued by the diversity of electronic music, his appearances perfectly blend energy and depth.

Leëf

Leëf is from the far north of France, on the Belgian border. Yet, she is also from the Dominican Republic, since her family relocated 12 years ago. While she currently lives in Montréal, the city she calls home, her arresting musical taste is as global as her background and perspective.

Unbothered by genres, tempos, eras and places, the music Leëf loves and plays as a DJ is simply unconfined. Admittedly, high-spirited emotions in music and grooves galore hit close to home for her. Nonetheless, the finesse of her ears always extends its welcome to the tougher and the more challenging moods alike.

Following her debuts at clubs such as Newspeak, Le Salon Daomé and Pelicano, she is a regular booking for various local crews including Inner Circle Montréal, DTD Records and Kizi Garden Records. As Montréal’s dance community continues to flourish, the same one that adopted her as an early dancer, you can expect to catch her more around the city this summer, whether it is on a dancefloor, a terrace or an even an outdoor stage.
