Light Society is a collaboration between artists Aliya Orr and Sakchin Bessette exploring the intersections of art, science, and mysticism. Conceived as a series of extended experiments across a diverse range of media including sculpture, photography, installation, video, and performance, their work seeks to generate meaningful engagements with altered states of consciousness, perception, and the magic of the everyday.

Light’s Society’s site-specific installation Oh...Those Angels is comprised of a gently moving hanging sculpture installed on the building’s exterior, seen through the treated surface of a central window. As the sculpture is filtered through the semi-transparent synthetic layer it becomes an apparition; an otherworldly presence slowly transforming, disappearing, and re-appearing in response to the changing exterior light conditions over the course of the day and night. A dynamic, shifting interaction of object and environment, invites viewers to attend closely to it's mysteries.
