Alejandro Figueroa can be defined as a “Culture builder ”. He initially moved to Montreal from his native Venezuela, to rapidly adapt and start to contribute to the vibrant Montreal cultural scene. At first he worked as an art director, to very quickly moved into writing and directing for television documentary series. The need to share and forge culture, has lead him to develop a connection in the art scene of Montreal, in which he is active as an art curator and producer. In his continuous need to create ways of communicate, he has produced for the last 5 years events for the Contemporary art museum of Montreal, as well as creating immersive environments for several art organization, music festivals, and companies. Now touching into what he considers the next logical step VR and AR. He is also amazed by the power and possibilities of these mediums and see no limit on its application.

The Matrix is an immersive space, in which 3 artists will be collaborating in parallel, to create an experience that will allow visitors plunge into the roots of the creative process. Each one of the artists will use their own particular medium and set of skills, to produce artwork that will best inbody the “Dream/Pre-concept” state of mind.

The Matrix will combine sculptural artwork, photography, sound pieces, custom scent and theme lighting, in order to create a complete immersive experience where all senses are engaged and stimulated.
