about

Born in 1974 in France, Laetitia Gilbert lives in Montreal. Laetitia explores mediums to print the elusive, fix the sensation in the material. His work stems from a constant observation of the materials, lights and movements of nature. It consists in initiating a dialogue with the lines and forms of which she feels close, to experience an “I do not know what” and look in oneself, by the self. It opens a dialogue with the infinite part of each of us.

Installation in situ, Gita is a paper place inspired by the work “Bhagavadgītā”, central part of the epic poem Mahabharata. Gita brings into play an intimate experience, outside of any action, to try to approach a bare reality of the Self. Gita asks about our visible and intangible worlds, about our relationship to others to the Self, about our individuality and the part of the unknown that persists in us, the fact that imperceptibly we participate in the coherence of the universe.
